about

Ôrré Tog’íŋ Dogólá is a remake of an old traditional song from Darfur in western Sudan. Ebo got inspired by one of Sudan's greatest female artists Myrem Amou, that unfortunately passed away in 2019. Myrem Amou was also an important voice in the peaceful revolution in Sudan and one of Ebo's greatest inspirations. The song is in Fur, one of the largest Sudanese languages, and it sings about acceptance of each other as human beings and urges us to speak up against all kinds of discrimination in society.

Ebo Krdum: “Ôrré Tog’íŋ Dogólá is a traditional song so the refrain has always existed. I heard the great Myrem Amou´s iconic version of this song but no one has re-written or recorded it before. When I sing this song I think of the different areas, lands, nature and people that no matter their differences coexist within the same land.”

Ôrré Tog’íŋ Dogólá is the second single from Krdum’s solo debut "Diversity" (to be released 10-09-21).
